Hello Alice....

[He was proud. Yesterday, his team had won the finals of the Football Frontier, he had the trophy sitting on his desk in his room. His father had praised him, Kageyama had praised him, his schoolmates cheered his name as he returned to school. He was regarded as a hero, of sorts. And he was one step closer to being able to live with his sister again. Yes, he was a very proud boy.

And yet, as he walked home from the grocery store, he felt like he was missing something.

Oh well, it must not be important.]

[He turns his head and stops walking, staring at Endou for a moment.]

...do I know you?

[Why is this boy talking to him like they were buddies?]

[ Endou doesn't even blink. After all, the two of them were good friends, so there was no reason to doubt Kidou at this point. ]

Haha, what? I didn't know you could pull those kind of jokes. It kinda doesn't match your character...

[He raises an eyebrow]

I'm sorry but I don't remember meeting you. Are you a fan or something because if you are, I wouldn't remember meeting you in the past, I've met far too many fans to remember each by their face or name.

[This guy's probably just trying to get Kidou to feel bad for not remembering him so he'd give him a free signature or something..]

[ He mirrors the eyebrow raise, but grins soon after. He'll just humor his buddy in his lame joke, or so he thought. ]

That's right, I'm a fan. You're the genius gamemaker, after all!

But you of all people should know I love your soccer a lot.

[He blinks a few times. Was this guy serious?]

I'm flattered.

[He can tell that he'll be here for a while so he sets his bags down and crosses his arms.]

I don't give out signatures for free, though. And no amount of flattery or "I'm your biggest fan" can convince me to give you one without charge.

[ Wait, wait. Kidou's actually still dragging this out? This was almost too creepy, even for him. ]

No, I'm pretty sure I'm your biggest fan.

[ He's serious about this, too. FIGHT HIM. ]

So are a hundred other people.

And yet a trillion billion people put together still wouldn't be a big of a fan as I am for your soccer!

[He smirks]

And let me guess, you're captain of a wimpy soccer club and you probably want the great Kidou Yuuto to come and give your club some encouragement or something, right?

[ Endou slightly furrowed his brow. Something felt off about that statement... ]

You went a bit too far there, Kidou. And why are you keeping up with this kind of joke? Sheesh, you're persistent.

Joke?

[He frowns again]

I'm not joking.

Of course it's a joke. What else would it be? Acting like you don't even know me or the team - it's not like you.

I don't know you or your team.

I am Kidou Yuuto, captain and strategist of Teikoku Academy. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wrong!

[ Something was wrong. He couldn't quite figure it out, but Kidou was definitely acting strange. ]

You're also our midfielder and genius gamemaker of Inazuma Eleven. Our friend. Of course you know us.

Inazuma Eleven?

[He scoffs]

I am not friends with people who can't even get their soccer club into the Football Frontier. I have no need to talk to people like you.

Like I said―!

[ Then he abruptly stopped himself, trying to shake off this tension. He didn't want to argue with his friend. But Kidou was saying things that made him feel frustrated. It definitely wasn't like him at all. Did something happen, or... ]

...Hey.

Are you really Kidou Yuuto?

I said I was, didn't I?

[He was starting to get irritated.]

Then it's a challenge!

[ He pumps out his fist at Kidou. ]

I'll give you three chances to shoot. Score one goal and I'll stop bothering you. But if I stop all three then you'll have to take back what you said and stop acting weird. How about it? If you're really Kidou Yuuto then this shouldn't be a problem for you, right?

[He's staring at you incredulously. Wait what?]

Are you for real?

[Then he laughs]

Alright, fine. I'll accept your little challenge. But by the time we're done, you'll be crying to your little soccer club because you weren't strong enough to protect your goal.

Heh. I knew you wouldn't back out.

[ Endou turns around, motioning him to follow with his free hand, groceries and the like all forgotten in his thoughts of a contest with Kidou. ]

Let's go.

[He picks his groceries back up and follows. It was a good thing it was all packaged food this time...]

[ Eggs need to be put into refrigeration immediately...

His mom's going to kill him.

But Endou could only think of the match they were going to have and how to kick Kidou out of his dumb stupor. Maybe if they played soccer together, he would remember something and how it felt to play as friends. It was a worth a try. ]

[ After a few moments of walking they finally reached the riverbank he knew so well, and put on his goalkeeper gloves, which were luckily nicely settled in his back pocket the whole time. ]

Any time you're ready!

[He sets his groceries to the side and walks to the shooting point with the ball, setting the ball down in front of him. Then he takes a few feet back and raises his leg, kicking the ball hard and sending it flying towards the goal.]

[ Aside from practice, this was the first time in a while since he got to play against Kidou like this. Endou had to admit, he was thrilled. He calculated the destination of the ball and caught it with his two hands with ease. Almost too easy, in fact. But, yes. This was still Kidou. And these were his shoots. Even if something felt off about them...

He threw it back to him and clapped his hands together, grinning. ]

That's one! What's wrong, is that all you've got?
