History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Here
Point in Canon: From the anime, after the first series.
Character Personality: At first, Kidou seems shady and mysterious. When he first appears in canon, he is the captain of Teikoku. He and his team take down mutliple other teams without any mercy and when they go up against Raimon in a practice match, they beat them down easily, with Kidou giving out the commands. He is very strict, very egotistical, and very good at keeping a pokerface. Later, we learn more about him and we learn that he keeps his problems to himself. He has a problem with the previous commander of Teikoku, Kageyama Reiji and when he learned that Kageyama was near him during the FFI, he started to panic. He got distracted during practice, missing passes and messing up on shoots. when the others asked him if he was okay, he would merely apologize for being messy and go about his way. At one point, he stopped replying all together. On top of keeping things to himself, he acts completely on his own. Such as during Raimon and Teikoku's district finals match, he had heard about how Kageyama wanted to win at all costs and that had him worried. He decided to search the school for traps and conftont Kageyama about his dangerous ways of getting what he wants.
He's level headed and he's also got a good head on his shoulders. During multiple soccer matches, with Teikoku and with Raimon and Inazuma Japan, he has found out ways to break through the other team's defense and he has helped make up hissatsu techniques. He is a strategist and he's helped his team win in almost every game he's been in. He's not hard to upset, but he's easy to keep in high spirits. He has made a lot of encouriging speeches to himself and to his team in order to keep morale up. In fact, there's almost always a smile on his face. Though, as stated before, he is easy to upset. He gets worried very easily and when something's on his mind, it's on his mind until the issue has been resolved. Such as finding out during FFI that Kageyama was on the same island as he. He became so obsessed with finding Kageyama and putting a stop to his horrible ways that he begain to loose focus in what he was doing and he started seeing Kageyama everywhere. It got to the point of him questioning himself and just what he was doing.
He's also got a good sense of justice. If he finds out that you have been doing things to harm others, he will try to cut off all ties with you, he will persue you, and he will want answers as to why you were this way. When he was young, Kageyama found him and brought him hope, teaching him how to be a great soccer player and giving him the courage to become one of the best soccer players out there. Kidou had been loyally following Kageyama's orders for years until he found out that in order for Teikoku to win a match with Raimon, Kageyama had someone tamper with the Raimon bus so the other team would get in an accident before the match. He started questioning Kageyama and he lost all trust for him. He eventually joined Raimon's team and cut off all his ties with Kageyama, he could not work under someone who would harm others to win. Though, if you atone for what you have done and you have a change of heart, Kidou will trust you again. At the FFI, one of the represenitives for Italy opens Kageyama's heart and makes him show his true self. His true self which was simply a nice man who loved soccer, not hated. In fact, Kageyama had blinded a young girl during one of his unsuccessful tries at harming Raimon and he had sent her letters and paid for her eye sugery. Upon finding this out, Kidou found himself having sympathy for the man who was once like his father and by the end of the match, Kageyama had turned himself into the police. Though, before he got to prison, he ended up getting killed in an accident. From this day forward, Kidou has Kageyama's sunglasses with him.
Kidou is also very loyal to his friends. In the Football Frontier for Japan, Kidou was on Teikoku's team as their captain. They were doing great, winning all of the matches. That is, until they fought Zeus, another team created by Kageyama for the purpose of defeating Raimon. Kidou had been on bench due to an injury in a prior match and all he could do was watch as Zeus completely destroyed his team. Zeus was so powerful that his teammates had been hospitalized. He swore to them that he would get his revenge, so, he joined Raimon's team and they ended up winning against Zeus. He has a lot of respect and cares deeply for his friends. Later on in the series, two of his former teammates, Sakuma and Genda, joined Kageyama's new soccer team while Kidou was busy with Raimon. They were completely infatuated with the power Kageyama had promised them. During the match, the two used forbidden hissatsu techniques. The reason why they were forbidden was that they were so powerful, that they broke down your body from the inside when you used them. Kidou, upon realizing that they were using them, had begged them to stop. And when they would not listen, he started to panic a bit and had the rest of the team try to not let them use the techniques. However, to his dismay, Sakuma used the technique too many times and he could no longer walk for the rest of the match. Needless to say, he was very pissed at Kidou for convincing his friends to use those techniques.
One last thing about Kidou is that he cares for his sister Haruna more then anything else. when they were both young, they lost their parents in an accident. They were soon sent to an orphanage for a little while and they both were adopted into different families. In order to be able to live with his sister again, Kidou made a deal with his adoptve father. If he could win consecutive National Championships in the Football Frontier all three years of junior high, he would be able to take his sister back. Though, he was not allowed to tell her so he had lost contact with her for about 6 years. Though during that time, he had never stopped thinking about her. Later in teh series, Haruna ends up being chosen for a sacrifice to a demon. Kidou had to fight a team of demons with soccer in order to save her, which was harder then it sounds. Also, he had stated that he would go through the depths of hell if it meant saving her life. He also got pissed off greatly when the demons touched her, even if they were simply grabbing her shoulder.
Character Plans: The plans I have for Kidou for now are for him (and Endou and Tahcimukai if they also get in to the game) to start a soccer club in Siren's Pull (which is kind of a given) and I'm interested in seeing how he'd react to being taken to Siren's Pull. I mean he's used to weird stuff happen but he hasn't been taken to a completely different world before. And Siren's Pull is pretty different then what Kidou's used to. Other then that, I don't have any specific plans!
Appearance/PB: Kidou is the one with the goggles and the cape
Writing Samples
First Person Sample [Today, Kidou decides to use the voice function to broadcast to the others staying the Port with him. Before, he's used only the text function to keep as much anonymity as possible. He still isn't too comfortable with the others around him but he's been here for a few weeks; he might as well start making friends.]
Ah, good morning. This is Kidou Yuuto, I have a question for you all.
[He clears his throat]
I was wondering if any of you played soccer or wanted to learn. We could meet at the Sports Stadium and have a game or lessons. It's been a while since I've been able to kick a soccer ball with others, so I thought it would be nice if we got together and played.
[There's a pause]
Well, I'll be waiting for anyone to show up. If you end up going, look for someone wearing a red cape and goggles.
[And that's when the message ends.]
Third Person Sample Kidou was heading off to morning practice, first day of his new and exciting life as a member of the Raimon High School soccer club. Before he could reach the giant school, he found himself here, wherever here was. His head was spinning and he felt like he had been tossed into a washing machine on high then thrown out into the lawn to dry. His limbs were strangely sore and he thought he was going to puke.
When he could collect his thoughts, he takes in the scenery around him and tilts his head slightly.
"Baseball...?"
He didn't play baseball, he played soccer. Why was he standing in the middle of an abandoned baseball diamond? More importantly, what did that sign over there mean by "good luck with the darkness"? What was going on here?
A bit later, he had finally been able to learn more about this place. He had been sent to a terrible place, it seemed. Slavery, experimentation, the whole shebang. But out of all of the things he learned about this place, there was one thing that was bothering him the most.
I was sent here... because I don't belong with normal society?
He clenched his hands into fists. He never once felt like he was the odd man out! There were things he was very confused about and he had strong feelings about being told he didn't fit in with the others back home but there was one thing he was sure of; the others here were in the same predicament as him. Hell, they probably have it worse if this place is really full of slavery and experiments. When will it be his turn to be sold off to first class people to scrub floors or strapped to a table and put through painful tests?
The thought of actually being in a place like this absolutely terrified him.

Revisions: An additonal Third Person Sample
"Who the hell plays soccer anymore? It's a sport for nobodies and losers, hardly anybody knows what it even is!"
Nobodies, huh?
The ball smacks against the wall again, harder then it had last time. What those students said had Kidou fired up. He would show them what soccer really was, and that it was more then just a simple sport. He'd show them his passion for soccer, and why it was so important to him. He'd show them--
As his leg was lifted into the air, about to kick the ball again, sirens go off. His foot settles onto the ground and he could feel his insides knot up with fear and apprehension. What happened exactly after the sirens went off? He had heard about The Darkness, but he had made sure to get inside before it was too late. He had looked out the window and saw the town looking different, and a few creatures walking around. It did intrigue him, he would admit. But he never really wanted to learn first-hand what it really was.
The area behind him starts to change, metal twisting, walls and the ground cracking, things rusting, and that smell. It was so pungent that Kidou had to cover his mouth and nose and swallow down the vomit that was beginning to rise up his throat.
He did remember one thing that he heard about The Darkness, and that was to run. He could not stand in one place for very long, less he wanted to end up the cause for such a fowl smell. Dead bodies were one of the worst things to stink up the place, afterall.
So, without a moment more of hesitation, he sets off. He knew about the monsters around the place, and he prayed to God that he wouldn't run into any of them before making it somewhere safe. Though he snatches a crowbar off the ground just in case.
Where could he go in a time like this, anyway? He knew about the clubs and bars and such but come on, he was fourteen! He wouldn't even think about heading into a club or bar, even if it was to save his life. No, there had to be somewhere else...
Ah! That's right! There was an Underground Mall, wasn't there? But... did it open after the sirens went off? A lot of the places wouldn't open after it was too late, Kidou knew that much. Perhaps he really was on his own for this.... he hoped he could make it.
Sadly, it seemed as though his prayers went unanswered. As he turned a corner, there was one of the Mutated humanoids he'd seen out the window standing on the other side of the road. This one had acid dripping out of it's mouth, and it was missing an arm. But it in no way looked like anything Kidou should mess with. It hadn't noticed him yet, perhaps if he turned around quietly....
Dammit. He found himself tripping over the curb while he was turning around, he had been panicking a bit and wasn't looking where he was going. He couldn't see the monster behind him because of his limited vision thanks to his goggles, but he knew he had been spotted. He scrambled to his feet as quick as he could while he listened to the sound of the monster's feet smacking the ground as it neared closer to him. His heart raced in his chest as he sprinted around the corner, trying to get room between him and the mutant.
It was fast. Very fast. The gap between the two got smaller and smaller, and Kidou started to panic even more. Wait, the crowbar! Maybe he couldn't kill the humanoid beast but he could at least buy him some time to find some kind of shelter. He closes his eyes and turns around, smacking the metal rod against the monster's temple. It sends the beast to the ground, and Kidou doesn't even bother checking to see if it was knocked out or not. He was going to get out of there as quick as possible.
Running down street after street, he could hardly feel his legs anymore. His heart was still pounding, his lungs burned, and his stomach was doing flip flops. Breathing in the horrible stench of the city through his nose was hard enough, but through his mouth was a lot worse. He didn't know how much longer he would last before he had completely passed out from exhaustion or gave his dinner up. He needed to find somewhere to hide soon, and very quickly. By the sounds of it, either a new monster had found him or Mister one-arm had woken up from his nap.
That was then he had spot it, a bus stop sitting underneath a dull and flickering streetlight like it was a godsend shelter. He didn't know if it would keep him from being killed but before he knew it, he was opening the doors and throwing himself in, closing them behind him. With his back up against the door for reinforcement, his chest rises and falls heavily and quickly as he catches his breath. The only thing he could hear was the sound of his own breathing, and occasional noises coming from creatures around the area. After what seems like hours of waiting and listening to see if he was under siege again, he slides down onto the floor and hugs his knees close to his chest.
Kidou takes this moment to actually study his surroundings. It was oddly clean in the bus stop, was it Darkness Proofed? It would make sense, considering how the monsters weren't trying to get at him from inside of it. Which means he was most likely safe from the creatures for the rest of the night. Hopefully.
He bows his head and heaves a huge sigh. Now he understood why the people here never went out at night, why they all seemed so bitter and jaded. This town was not something to laugh at. He would have to be more careful from now on.
