"You're family too."

A WIP of a really bad Kidou and Endou fic dont read its terrible

The house was quiet, as it often was. With his father out of the house for work, Kidou Yuuto sat in front of the fireplace, wrapped up in a blanket with a book in his hands. It had been snowing outside pretty hard lately, and Kidou hadn't heard from any of the members of the soccer team in a while. He didn't really expect anyone to call anyway. It was break, they were probably spending time with their families. Especially today, since it was Christmas Eve. Ah, well it didn't really matter anyway. He was used to spending the holidays by himself, and it wasn't going to break his heart if he was going to spend this Christmas alone too.

The book he was reading was a tale of a young boy who had lost his parents at a young age, and swore to the sunset that he would get revenge and kill the person who killed them. The boy was found by an old man, who raised him as his student; and as his son. He was taught how to defend himself and bring justice to Japan, and once he had reached the age of fourteen, he was given a coloful suit and a title; Akaimanto (Red Cape). It was a story recommended to Kidou by his younger sister, she told him the main character reminded her of him... and she really wasn't joking.

As he turned the page, his hand reached out to grab the mug of hot chocolate sitting on the table next to him. Though, as he pressed the mug to his lips to take a drink, he noticed it was empty. That was strange... he remembered filling it only a few minutes ago. Time sure does fly when you're engrossed with a book, doesn't it? After placing a bookmark inside of his story, he sets it down and gets up from the couch, holding the blanket around his shoulders with his free hand, and makes his way to the kitchen to fill his cup again. Though, as he was pouring hot water into the mug, the phone rang. He turns off the faucet and walks over to the phone, checking the number before picking it up. It wasn't really a number he recognized...

"Hello, you've reached the Kidou residence. This is Kidou Yuuto speaking."

"Yo, Kidou!"

"Endou? Why are you calling me on Christmas Eve? Aren't you busy..."

"Mm... Not really. My mom doesn't like driving in the snow, so we're staying home for the holiday!"

"Ah, I see.. I don't really blame her, the roads are pretty icy today."

"Yeah, no kidding! If I didn't know any better, I'd think we lived in Hokkaido! Anyway Kidou, are you busy right now?"

"Ah, no, not entirely. My father is out of town for a business meeting... so I'm by myself for the weekend. Why do you ask?"

"Wellll, I was kiiiiiind of hoping you'd be able to spend the night..."

"... Really? On Christmas Eve? Is that alright?"

"Yeah! My parents already said it was OK, so if you want to come over..."

There was a moment of hesitation before Kidou answered. Christmas is a family and couple holiday... wouldn't it be strange for someone to spend it with someone else's family? Though they were inviting him, and it would be rude to refuse when you didn't have a reason why. And maybe spending it with the Endous wouldn't be so bad... after all, he was Kidou's best friend and his parents were very kind.

"Sure, I'd love to."

"Ahh, really?! Great! I'll ask mom if she can give you a ri--"

"There's no need, I can ask my driver to take me."

"Right, right, I totally forgot you had a special driver, heh. So I'll see you in a bit?"

"Yeah."

After placing the phone back on it's receiver, Kidou walked back to the couch and took the blanket off his shoulders. He folded it neatly and placed it at the end of the couch, and took his book upstairs to his room where he started to pack one of his bags for the weekend. Admittedly, the more he thought about tonight, the more excited he was. He hadn't actually had a real sleepover before, even when he was living with his biological family. And the fact that it was at Endou's made it a bit better.
